Thieves dump loot in escape bid

LONDON – British police say smash-and-grab raiders hurled luxury watches at chasing officers as they attempted to flee from the scene of a robbery.Scotland Yard says the gang threw expensive wristwatches to deter police after they snatched an estimated £500 000 (US$795 000) of goods from a London jewelers in the early hours of yesterday.All four are being questioned at a London police station.
