New appeal judge

Barbados will have a new judge in the Court of Appeal from next week.The Government Information Service revealed yesterday that Professor Andrew D. Burgess has been appointed to the court.The law professor, one of the longest serving deans at the University of the West Indies’ Cave Hill Campus’ law faculty, is scheduled to take his oath before Governor General Sir Clifford Husbands on Thursday morning at Government House.Burgess was the first UWI law graduate to be appointed a professor and also serve as dean of the Faculty of Law.
