The 2010 beach soccer season officially kicks off this afternoon at 2 p.m. with six teams vying for the top prize of $3 000 in the SandBlast Beach Soccer Knockout Tournament.The competition will be held on Browne’s Beach, directly behind Carlisle Bay Centre.Defending champions Friends Beach Soccer will be hoping that when the sand settles at around 10 p.m. they are still at the top of the podium in the second year of this competition.During the week, the SandBlast Beach Soccer Cup held a launch in conjunction with the Banks B3 Beach Festival Beach League at the Weisers Beach Bar where some of the sponsors and the organisers outlined the 2010 programme.The Banks B3 League, which is in its third year, will kick off next Sunday with 12 teams competing for the top three prizes of $5 000, $2 000 and $1 000.
