The pond at Searles Quarry, Christ Church, proved too much for driver Rodney “Ramma” Mason, spotter Dave Lowe and their partially submerged Mitsubishi Pajero in the freestyle component of Sunday’s Mud Dogs Practice Mud Fest. The event featured more than 20 crews trying to conquer the mud, water and challenging terrain. The truck which was attempting to rescue the stranded crew had to be pulled out, while Mason and Lowe were forced to scramble for higher ground. The event was a prelude to the main Mud Fest scheduled for later this year.
