It’s time for Barbados to have drunk-driving legislation in place.Drivers who are found at fault in serious accidents should also have to undergo re-training before being allowed to re-new insurance policies. The call has come from Inspector Leon Blades, the Royal Barbados Police Force’s administrator of its Traffic Division.Along with the enactment of a driving under the influence law that will include the use of breatherlyser machines by police at accident scenes, Blades also wants the introduction of speed enforcement cameras. The lawman says there is a dire need for a road safety school to be set up in Barbados, noting that the school would be an alternative sentencing option for those convicted of breaking traffic laws.
