Drivers get fire safety lesson

LIVING UP to its maxim of looking out for passengers’ safety, the Barbados Transport Board sent 22 of its drivers and personnel to an intense two-day training seminar at the Arch Hall Fire Station in St Thomas on the use of fire extinguishers and controlling fire. Among the list of 22 was Bus Driver Of TheYear Denzil Scantlebury and Barbados’ volleyball captain Elwyn Oxley, who relished the opportunity to practise smothering a hot blaze as well as to grasp the basics of fire prevention and control particularly around flammable products.
