Pilgrim re-elected

Prime Minister David Thompson has been returned unopposed as the president of the Democratic Labour Party (DLP).But the party has a new general secretary – George Pilgrim.Pilgrim, who stepped down as general secretary in 2007, was re-elected yesterday when the DLP held its internal elections.Acting Prime Minister Freundel Stuart was elected first vice-president and the other vice-presidents are John Boyce, Ronald Jones and Christopher Sinckler.The assistant general secretaryis Donville Inniss and the treasurer is Tennyson Beckles.The ailing Thompson is not attending the conference, which continues today at DLP headquarters in Belleville, St Michael.
