James: Not QEH ad

THE management of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) is in no way connected with advertising for medical consultants on the website AllBarbadosJobs.com.
Chief executive officer of the QEH, Dexter James, speaking to the MIDWEEK NATION yesterday, described the advertisement as “misinformation and mischievous”.
James said he had seen the advertisement and could “clearly say” that the board disassociated itself from any advertisement on AllBarbadosJobs.com for medical consultants.
“The ad has no basis. We have not advertised for any medical consultants on AllBarbadosJobs.com,” James said.
On the website, the advertisement states: “Currently due to industrial action the QEH is in urgent need of recruiting a cadre of medical specialists. Competitive rates will be offered for work in this island paradise.” James admitted that the QEH was indeed on the hunt for medical consultants.
“We are in fact advertising to fill vacant posts in our establishment. For a website to surreptitiously use the present tense and volatile situation between ourselves and Barbados Association of Medical Practitioners (BAMP) to even suggest or insinuate that the QEH is urgently seeking to recruit a cadre of medical specialists from overseas is very mischievous.” (MK)
