Teenager caught with dope in court

KINGSTON – A teenager who went to court with a small amount of ganja in his pocket is now serving a three-month prison sentence after the drug was found in his possession at the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court.The drug was found in 19-year-old Daniel Smith’s pocket after he was taken to the holding area after he was given a 30-day sentence for possession of and dealing in ganja.Smith was sentenced by Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey who scolded him for his “daring action”.“You come here for the second time for ganja and you come with ganja in your pocket. You have no respect for the court,” she said.Smith, who claimed he had forgotten the drug in his pocket, said “I man sorry about it, Your Honour”.The 30-day sentence will run concurrent with the three-month sentence.
