Warm welcome from Broomes

THE new school term opened yesterday with much joy and laughter for the students of the Alexandra School.
Beaming faces greeted principal Jeff Broomes, who welcomed them with open arms after the just-ended summer holidays.
“Come here, let me see how you have grown,” he urged one student, while assisting another with tying her tie.
Broomes also used the opportunity to let students know he expected some hard work from them.
The school has been under the spotlight over the last year as efforts were continuing to end the impasse between Broomes and the Barbados Secondary Teachers Union.
