Not even a noisy, partisan crowd could help Jenny Benedict last night at the Gymnasium of Garfield Sobers Sports Complex.
The Bajan lass got an A for aggressiveness, but was no match for the Ukraine’s Oleksandra Sydorenko, who easily defeated Benedict in the first fight for a Barbadian at the AIBA 2010 World Women’s Boxing Championships.
Sydorenko easily won 9-2, earning three straight standing eight-counts in the opening round, enroute to a comfortable win.
