No word on chicken galore

It is still unclear when the Chicken Galore outlet at Bank Hall, St Michael, the first of two establishments in Barbados to be robbed and set on fire within the last month, will be reopened to the public.
Almost a month after fire destroyed the outlet, general manager Geoffrey Goddard said the company was dealing with the police and insurance officials on the matter and hoped to reopen before year end.
The store was robbed on August 13 by an unidentified male, who then threw an incendiary device behind the cashier’s counter, setting the building on fire.
The two staff members who were on duty  were reassigned to other locations of the business.  No one was injured in the blaze.
At a Press conference last Tuesday, Commissioner of Police Darwin Dottin said: “We have asked the analysts to look carefully at what occurred at Bank Hall and what occurred at Tudor  Street to come up with a comparative analysis.
“They have completed that analysis and it has produced some interesting findings. Certainly the modus operandi of the perpetrators is similar and some other characteristics,” he said. (LK)
