I often wonder about this hand washing business, you go into restaurants and in the bathrooms you see signs which say “employees must wash their hands before returning to work”.
So tell me, would management know if the chef did wash his hands or not? Or the cook or the waitress or barman? Does management have a hand smeller standing by to check or are the staff not supposed to dry their hands until inspection?
How do we really know that the folks who cook and handle we food washed and washed properly, their hands?
Are there hidden cameras to check? Or is this an honour system? Secondly, iffing you have to tell people to wash their hands do I really want to eat there? I mean will their hygiene standards meet those of my stomach? Will they wash the veggies before slicing, sanitize the counters? What bout my plates and the glasses I drink from?
I once saw a chef from a major establishment in Bubbadus come out of a toilet stall and walk straight out the bathroom and presumably back to work. I walked straight out the establishment and I was done wid dat, never been back since.
Still on the bathroom thing, are our hands really clean when we finish in there even if we wash them? You sit in the toilet and do your business, then you flush the toilet, the same flusher others before you have been handling all day,then you open the catch on the door, the same catch that everyone else has been opening and closing all day, then you turn on the faucet, the same one that people with dirty hands have been turning on all day, use soap and water and wash your hands clean.
Great, hands clean now right? But then you turn off the same faucet that all the dirty hands have handled all day. And then you go back and eat you food feeling that you hands clean! Humm!
Come to think bout it we got nuff more places where people holding plenty germs, like when you enter a Maxi, you does hold on to something to get in, but so does everybody else, staircases too, another place where germs multiplying, doors you does open every day and then you pass yuh hand over yuh face.
And don’t talk bout when you travelling and get in one of them fancy taxis in New York wid all the touch screens to help you pass the time, you know how much nasty hands does touch them every day? something wrong there people! Walk with hand sanitizer all day and night.
And then there is this Ground Zero debate and it being hallowed ground and the pastor who threatened to burn 200 copies of the Koran and people all over Washington begging the man not to do something that will ignite other flames all over the world. That “pastor” was just looking fuh publicity and he got it, remember his “church” only got bout 25 to 50 members, this was his moment for a seven second national tv soundbite but he get much more!
I woulda charge he wid something ,they must be laws in America that somebody coulda use to bring he to true Christian feelings. And as to this business of ground Zero being hallowed ground, iffing that is so, then surely some of the wufless sex shops and night clubs where all sorts of wuflessness does go on at night should be made to go.
Don’t get me wrong, I feel that iffing people in America don’t want a Mosque near or at ground zero, then that should be respected, there is plenty of land in New York to locate a Mosque and keep the peace. I not like a friend of mine who say he would allow it but open a barbecue shop next door specialising in pork chops. Pork next door on one side and a gay nightclub The Turban Cowboy pun the other, across the road he would set up a sexy longerie shop “Victoria keeps nothing secret” and fuh good measure put an adult toy shop nearby.
That is what you call fighting fire wid fire but I don’t think it would solve de problem. Remember people that many good people, including many good Muslims died in 9/11. And while we know that in some Muslim countries they do not tolerate Christians we cannot advocate the tit for tat approach. America after all is a country of immigrants, jew and gentile, Christian and Muslim, voodoo and Hindu, fundamentalist and Baptist, Catholic and Protestant, Bhudist and atheist!
