For the sixth year, the Kiwanis Club of Bridgetown got The City alive with its Silver Dollar Drive yesterday. And this time in and around Independence Square.
Beads of perspiration glistened on the faces of many who stopped by in the warm morning sunlight to put down their coins – their contribution toward the $120 000 target for eight charities.
There were also those Samaritans without silver dollars, but with larger donations for the worthwhile cause.
The event saw too a few Government ministers braving the heat to play their part in the annual event.
