Two-week shower

Residents of Valley View Terrace, The Pine, St Michael, said that for the past two weeks they have been complaining about this burst pipe.
They said it had come to the point where they had to “plug” the leak with stones in order to avoid an unwanted shower.
However, Barbados Water Authority (BWA) corporate communications specialist, Joy-Ann Haigh, said the authority only received the complaint yesterday afternoon around 1:46 p.m. and it had already been fixed.
She said it was not a burst main but a burst service, as in an individual’s water supply, adding the BWA had a sterling record of repairing damaged pipes of late.
“Within the last couple of months, any faults have usually been fixed between 24 – 36 hours, two days max,” she said. (CA)
