KINGSTON – Buju Banton’s dad is hoping that his son will be granted bail when he again faces the United States courts next week.
The father, Benjamin Myrie, told the Observer today that strong prayers were going out for the entertainer, who is detained in the Pinellas County Jail in Tampa, Florida.
“Bwoy, all I can do is just pray and keep my fingers crossed,” said Myrie.
United States judge Anthony Porcelli today reserved judgment in the bail hearing for the artiste and said he would make a ruling next week.
Banton’s lawyer David Markus is contending that his client is not a flight risk because of his popularity.
Prosecutor James Preston, however, claims he is. (Jamaica Observer)
