NEW DELHI, India, Oct 7, CMC – Jamaican Lerone Clarke clocked 10.12 seconds to win the marquee 100 metres men’s title at the 19th Commonwealth Games today.The 29-year-old finished ahead of Great Britain’s Mark Lewis-Francis who was second in 10.20, with Aaron Armstrong of Trinidad and Tobago third in 10.24 seconds.In the corresponding women’s event, Vincentian Natasha Mayers claimed silver as she finished second behind Osayemi Oludamola of Nigeria who won gold in 11.32 seconds.Experienced British Virgin Islands sprinter Tahesia Harrigan finished down the field in sixth spot after clocking 11.56 seconds.From left, England’s Mark Lewis-Francis, Jamaica’s Lerone Clarke, and Trinidad’s Aaron Armstrong posing with their medals following the Men’s 100m final during the Commonwealth Games at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi, India, today.
