Minutes after former Leader of the Opposition Mia Mottley addressed the public yesterday afternoon she took a walk through the busy capital of Bridgetown.
These Rawle Culbard pictures show an upbeat Mottley taking time to chat with well-wishers along Swan Street.
Addressing the Press at the Opposition Office, in Parliament Buildings, Mottley, who had been Barbados Labour Party (BLP) political leader for the last 33 months, said: “It has been an honour to lead the Barbados Labour Party.”
Mottley added that she would continue to put her country first, noting her ultimate purpose was to serve her constituency and the people of Barbados. She said this had been her firm belief since entering public life in July 1989.
It was announced yesterday morning by George Payne, BLP chairman, that Mottley no longer commanded the confidence of the majority of members in the parliamentary group. (LK)
