Cricket needs leadership

Share post:

THE APPOINTMENT of Darren Sammy as the new captain of the West Indies cricket team was nottotally unexpected.

Clearly, none of the other players has shown the leadership qualities and this is a sad reflection on the team itself.

I wish him well, but the process is going to be a rather challenging one.

The West Indies Cricket Board and the Players Association need to address the issue of developing leadership skills among the players.

We may also need to look at the issue of a One-Day captain, a T-20 captain and then a Test team captain.
