NASSAU, The Bahamas – Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham said he was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of his friend and colleague, David Thompson, Prime Minister of Barbados, following a short but devastating illness.
“Like all of his friends and colleagues I had hoped that this day would have been postponed,” Ingraham said.  “David has been a valued member of the Conference of Heads of Government of the Caribbean Community and his voice will be sadly missed in future deliberations.”
Ingraham said Thompson was still a young man, who had much to contribute to his country and to our region.
Thompson succumbed to pancreatic cancer Saturday morning. He is survived by his mom and dad, his wife Mara and their three children as well as five brothers. (CMC)
