Kim and Glenfield medal for Barbados

DANCERS KIM CLARKE and Glenfield Greaves danced their way to the top in this year’s Caribbean Dance Sport Classic Competition held in Puerto Rico.
The competition was held at the El San Juan Hotel Casino from September 29 to October 3.
Clarke and Greaves, who participated at the Pro-Am Go Star level, placed first in the Ten Single Dances, second in the International Latin Open Scholarship and first in the Super Bowl Championship divisions.
Clarke, a member of Genesis Ballroom Dance Studio and the Barbados Ballroom Travelling Team, told WE Magazine that she and her partner were grateful for their success.
“I feel great – but we expected to win. It was a good achievement because we were the only black couple on the floor and nobody knew where Bridgetown was.”
“After putting in all of that hard work and doing this on our own – we didn’t go as part of a group or organization, we did this just as a dance couple. We were responsible for raising our funds and doing everything on our own,” she said. (AH)
