The?sound of drums brought out curious onlookers on Thursday night as soldiers and police marched from Eagle Hall to Kensington Oval as they rehearsed for next Wednesday’s State Funeral of late Prime Minister David Thompson.
The session, which took place from about 10:30 p.m. until just after 11 p.m., started at Downes & Wilson Funeral Home and moved along Barbarees Hill, Westbury Road, President Kennedy Drive, ending at the Oval.
Residents along the route as well as people patronising businesses on Baxters Road looked on in silence as a vehicle-drawn gun carriage made its way along the route followed by senior military officers timing the procession.
