The young and old turned out at St John’s Parish  Church from as early 8:30 this morning to view  the body of their late MP David Thompson.
Thompson’s body was lying in State at the Church all today  where hundreds filed in to say farewell  to the late Prime Minister. Thompson represented the parish of St John for 23 years.
The Nation’s John Sealy reports that the sombre atmosphere at the church was broken at points by the musical tributes by students at the St John’s Primary School , who were accompanied by the Anthony Sargeant Trio.
A number of Barbadians, including former Bishop of Barbados Rufus Brome , as well as members of the judiciary turned out to pay their last respects.
The funeral service for the late Prime Minister takes place tomorrow at Kensington Oval at 9:30 a.m. Thompson will be buried at St John’s Parish Church. (CM)
