IT WAS a nostalgic occasion for cricket fans last night as the second CLOBI Cup for former international cricketers bowled off at Kensington Oval yesterday.
Sri Lanka rallied from 54 for four to make a respectable 158 for nine in their 20 overs with Saman Jayantha hitting an unbeaten 61 off 39 balls, spiced with five fours and two sixes.
But India, chasing a revised target of 127 in 15 overs after a heavy shower between innings delayed the restart, were carried to an eight-wicket victory by an unbeaten 63 from opener Vikram Rathour, who hit eight fours and two sixes in 39-ball knock.
Amay Khurasiya supported with 49 not out off 33 balls.
Summarised scores Sri Lanka 158-9 in 20 overs (Saman Jayantha 61,
R. Kaluwitharana 15, Wickramaratne 15, A. de Silva 14, S. Jayasuriya 13, M. Atapattu 11; A.
