A HOUSE FIRE of unknown origin claimed the life of one of Barbados’ centenarians this afternoon.
According to police reports, the victim who was yet to be positively identified up to Press time, is believed to be that of 100-year-old Vermilia Prince who occupied the wood and wall structure at No 54 Ixora Crescent Sunflower Drive, Cane Garden, St Thomas, that went up in flames around 5:20 p.m.
Police were still at the scene, along with a number of curious onlookers, around 7 p.m. (JS)
