Opposition spokesman on the economy Clyde Mascoll says the 2010 Budget is definitely not the kind of Budget required at this time.
“I don’t see this Budget can correct what it set out to do” he said during a post Budget radio programme that followed Chris Sinckler’s delivery of the fiscal package in Parliament earlier this evening.
Mascoll was particularly critical of the removal of tax free allowances and the 50 per cent increase in the excise tax on gasoline. He said these measures would have significant implications for the cost of doing business and the cost of living generally in Barbados.
