Digging for potatoes

Applewaithes’ plantation near Locust Hall, St George has been attracting dozens of people who are stocking up on their sweet potatoes. 
Harvesting started three weeks ago and one  field attendant who preferred to remain anonymous said the fields were ‘brekking’ good and many people were flocking to get their supplies.
She said many Barbadians still found it more practical to dig their own potatoes rather than go to the markets. 
“The reaction has been good and people are still coming, generally they have not been many complaints about the yields” she added. (LK)
