Sandy Lane’s general manager Robert Logan is looking to the proposed direct air link between Barbados and Dallas to boost his luxury hotel’s business out of the United States.
Logan said the US market was Sandy Lane’s second largest, coming behind Britain. He said Britain and Ireland combined made up the hotel’s main source market, providing about 65 per cent of Sandy Lane’s business.
The United States provides approximately 19 per cent of the West Coast hotel’s business.
“We are very excited to have further services coming directly from Dallas in the future. I think it is tremendous potential” Logan spoke to BARBADOS BUSINESS AUTHORITY last week, while unveiling two new Rolls Royce Phantom motor cars to augment the existing fleet of executive vehicles for transportation of guests.
Logan described Dallas as a fine network area, and the hub for American Airlines. “To have that gateway coming straight into Barbados is great for us moving forward,” the hotelier remarked.
Sandy Lane reported some decline in business as a result of the global economic conditions, but Logan painted an optimistic picture of recovery for his hotel, saying that numbers were again slowly climbing, while the hotel continued to upgrade its infrastructure and customer service. (GC)
