Service with a smile at Cave Shepherd

Smiles were contagious at Cave Shepherd, Broad Street, on Friday as customers joined staff in sending a smile, part of the National Initiative for Service Excellence (NISE) courtesy month campaign.
Cave Shepherd’s training and development officer, Mark Anthony Thornhill, said the company got a very good response from shoppers who passed by the appreciation board set up on the first floor.
“Our staff took advantage of the opportunity to show appreciation to each other within and across departments, and our customers were generally eager to tell us what they liked about our products and services,” said Thornhill.
“There is sometimes so much negativity in the air, it is always good for our staff to hear what they are doing right,” Thornhill said.
NISE chief executive officer Kim Tudor, who was at the event with her team, commended Cave Shepherd for its creativity in staging the send-a-smile challenge. (GE)
