AN IMPRESSIVE bowling performance from CBC’s Mark Seale, aided by a hat-trick by horse racing commentator Lindon Yarde, carried the combined Media to a comprehensive 37-run victory over a Police XI in the 50th aAnniversary Barbados Police Co-opperative Credit Union celebration Twenty20 cricket match at Weymouth on Wednesday night.
Seale took five for 15, while Yarde dismissed Trevor Griffith, Kenrick Marshall and Leslie Reifer in consecutive balls as the Police XI were routed for a meagre 40 runs in 9.4 overs, replying to a modest 77 in 16 overs by the Media side.
Prime Minister Freundel Stuart greeted the teams before the start of the match, which was played in honour of Police stalwarts, Oliver Brome and Steve Yearwood.
In his brief address, Stuart, who was also a former Attorney General, revealed that he actually represented both Foundation and the University of the West Indies in cricket.
