Garrison Secondary School yesterday converted silver into gold by capturing their first Barbados Secondary School Netball League Under-19 crown since 1996.
In an entertaining final at the Netball Stadium, Garrison, who lost to Springer Memorial in last year’s championship match, edged out St Lucy Secondary 22-19.
Garrison’s win was due largely to a total team effort with national players Tynisha Rowe and Shannon Hackett excelling.
Hackett sank 16 of her 18 attempts, while Nikita President, who was lately brought into the shooting circle, scored five of eight.
