BLP names St John candidate

The Barbados Labour Party tonight named Hudson Griffith as its candidate for St. John.
Opposition Leader Owen Arthur told a packed audience at the Lodge School, his party was ready to answer the call and face the people of Barbados.
“While there may be some talk of a by-election, as part of our planning, we must be prepared for anything the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) throws at us,” Arthur said at a meeting that marked the official endorsement of Griffith as the candidate for the seat vacated by the death of late Prime Minister David Thompson on October 23.
Arthur welcomed the 45-year-old businessman to the BLP?family, adding that there was a determination in the former national volleyball player, that he deeply respects. (MK)
