A penetrative bowling performance from left-arm spinner Derek Bishop helped BNB St Catherine earn maximum bowling points against LIME in good batting conditions yesterday.
Bishop took six for 55 from 24 overs as LIME, opting to bat after winning the toss, struggled to 182 all out off 71 overs. Â
In 2.4 overs before bad light ended play, St Catherine lost Ulric Batson as they finished on 12 for one.
LIME appeared to press the self-destruct button as two of the first four wickets to fall went the run-out route. Â
The drama reduced LIME to 68 for four, with the other two taken by Bishop whose six-wicket haul propelled him to 48 wickets for the season.
Kevon Beckles provided the anchor at the top with a score of 31 but it was the veteran Brian Johnson who helped LIME avoid complete embarrassment with a solid innings of 54 that spanned 174 minutes.
Johnson faced 142 deliveries striking a six and three fours.
