THE ANNUAL CHRISTMAS party hosted by the St Michael North West Constituency Branch of the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) may be shifted from its usual venue next year because “each year it is getting bigger and better”.
This was the word from Minister of Finance and Member of Parliament for the area Chris Sinckler as he spoke to the DAILY NATION yesterday about the annual event.
Last Saturday afternoon over 700 children and 200 adults were treated to a fun-filled party which was full of food, games and treats.
While the branch followed its tradition in giving each child attending the party a gift, this year a raffle was added where individuals got the opportunity to win bicycles and food vouchers, among other prizes.
Sinckler said that the party, which was held at the Deacons Primary School, was expanding each year, forcing organisers to contemplate moving it to the Ellerslie Secondary school pasture.
“This year was the biggest and the best and reports have been very favourable. We had jumping tents, face painting and water slides, among other games for the children to participate in. It was massive . . .  so next year we might have to change the location because each year there is an increase in the number of people attending the party,” Sinckler said. (AH)
