Santa Claus is riding to town

CHRISTMAS just wouldn’t be Christmas without Santa Claus.
That’s why year after year they come to spread the joy of the festive season with their jolly laugh, big hugs and lots of gifts.
As the Christmas festivities expand, so too do the number of Santas multiply; so these days instead of thick, greying St Nicks, you get Santas of various sizes and ages. But the one constant is the cheer they bring to every little girl and boy – and the child in every adult.
Of course, in these parts Santas don’t come on sleighs but in helicopters, vehicles, and this year it seems on bicycles too, like this smartly attired one spotted at the traffic lights on Fontabelle, The City, recently, comfortably perched on his bicycle waiting for the lights to change. (SP)
