BARBADOS’ Under-13 cricketers are in danger of returning from Trinidad and Tobago without the Inshan Ali Trophy.
When stumps were drawn on the penultimate day of their three-day Test at the Frank Worrell Development Centre in Couva, yesterday after the entire first day was washed out, Trinidad and Tobago had made a strong reply of 93 for four after dismissing Barbados for an unsatisfactory 117 in 59 overs.
Opener Leniko Boucher topscored for Barbados with a patient 47, which included four boundaries, before he was eighth out. Akil Greenidge and Deswin Currency made 14 each and Shamar Springer contributed 12 but captain Lee Gaskin’s run of low scores continue when he was trapped leg before wicket for three.
Trinidad and Tobago’s captain Amaraj Rampersaud took three for 17 with his off breaks and got good support from medium pacer Shane Smith, three for 16. Left-arm orthodox spinner Jed Gooli captured two for four but returned with the bat to hit an unbeaten 44 not out.
Carl Dealva made 14 and Dejourn Charles chipped in with 11 as Springer, Dominic Drakes, Camari Boyce and Ngosi Seale each took a wicket for Barbados, who drop five catches. (EZS)
