One of the worrying spin-offs of the Christmas celebrations is increased garbage on the streets, as Bajans get rid of the old and not-so-old.
But for the hard-pressed Sanitation Service Authority, the problem is compounded by indiscriminate disposal.
Even where bins are provided, people just throw their garbage all around them, as was seen in Gills Road,
St Michael, last week.
The scene is an all-too-familiar one in many parts of the island. (TY)
