Party in the Central zone

Staff of the Central Bank let their hair down at the annual Christmas party hosted at  the Lion Castle  polo clubhouse  in St. Thomas, last week.
It was an elegantly c asual affair and not even heavy rain could dampen the evening for the many staffers who turned out.Seated around the stage in a large gaily-decorated tent  set on the lawn, Central Bank Governor Dr. Delisle Worrell and his wife Monica  responded with roaring laughter as MC Mac Fingall got the party started with his trademark humour, in a session just before dinner.
John Hazzard and his  team from Market Five served up a Christmas smorgasborg savoured by diners while the trio of Andre Woodvine on sax, Roger Gittens on piano and  Richard Evans on bass serenaded diners .
But the sedated mood changed after dinner when  the fun began with Central Bank staff  being called  to the stage to act out scenarios that evoked  side-splitting laughter. There was the vendor trying to attract customers with his sales pitch, two musclemen competed with a pose-down, as contestant after contestant vied for the winning position.
Near midnight it was time to leave the table and shake a leg, and the dance floor was quickly filled. The clock was ticking on to 2 a.m when the finalnote was sounded and the party was over.
