Barbadians will be out in droves this Old Year’s Night, judging by the number of bookings in some areas.
First Street and Second Street Holetown in St James seem the place to be this year. Already two restaurants are recording solid bookings for their dinner, and persons attending will have free admission to the street party.
Nurika Griffith, office manager at The Mews, revealed that the venue was almost fully booked. “Bookings have been very good this year and I think, along with the street party, that it’s a very good package,” she noted. Bookings are also going well at the Plantation Garden Theatre. General manager Beverley Layne said the popular entertainment venue had been getting a lot of calls and the bookings were going “fairly well”.
“We expect around the same number that we had last year. Between dinner and dance we had close to 1 000 patrons, so this year we are hoping for the same,” she said.
