Shootings leave two men dead

Police are investigating two shootings early this morning that have left two men dead.
Police public relations officer Inspector David Welch this morning confirmed that the shootings occurred in St George and Christ Church.
Anderson Brathwaite, 29, of Ellerton, St George was shot in his stomach and later died while undergoing surgery at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Adrian Nervais, 32, of Harper’s Land, Sargeant’s Village, Christ Church, who was shot in the abdomen, also died at the hospital.
Welch said Nervais was shot in Butler’s Tenantry, Sargeant’s Village, Christ Church around 12:30 a.m. He said Nervais received a gun shot wound after reportedly involved in a dispute with another man. “He was taken to the QEH by private transportation where he later died,” he said.
The St George shooting occurred at Cane Hill in Ellerton around 1 a.m. said Welch.
The Inspector said Brathwaite received a gun shot wound to his stomach by an unknown assailant while attending a fete in the area. He was taken to the hospital by ambulance where he later died from his injuries.
