Police have made a breakthrough in the beating of a Black Rock, St. Michael woman.
Ryan Leo Sylvester Johnson, 35, of Free Hill, Black Rock, has been charged with serious bodily harm of Melissa Holder, 31, of Danesbury, Black Rock, St Michael, on December 28 last year.
It is alleged that Johnson was Holder’s assailant that day, forcing her to seek refuge in the house of a  relative.
The woman was pregnant at the time, and miscarried. The foetus was thrown away, and had to be recovered by police investigating the matter. Johnson is scheduled to be arraigned at the District ‘A’ Magistrates Court tomorrow morning.
Police Public Relations Officer, Inspector David Welch, also revealed today that they are steadily making progress into the investigation of two murders which ocurred last Sunday morning.
According to Welch, they have developed a person of interest into the shooting death of Adrian Nervais, who died after being shot in the stomach following an alleged dispute with another man near his Sargeant’s Village home in Christ Church.
Nervais was transported by private ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where he subsequently died.
