Dear Christine,
Greetings to you in the name of our Lord and saviour, Jesus Christ. I hope you had an enjoyable Christmas and I wish you all the best for the New Year.
Christine, I am writing you once again about a certain man of the cloth who would not stop what he is doing. He is hiding behind Christianity to do his sinful acts, but his sins will find him out one day.
Christine, this man has a lady friend in the church, who is baptised, yet he still has a side woman, whose home he leaves all hours of the night. She is so ashamed of it that she won’t even come to church. But because she can never keep a job, that’s why she has to deal with him. This man has sisters and they believe in his true lady friend so much that they can always be seen together. But the side woman like she is blind to this.
Some of the women in the church know about it but they are just talking under their noses. His lady friend is pleasant and quiet and should not be treated like this. But if you see this man, he looks like he won’t hurt an ant but is no more than a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
He still takes the Lord’s Supper when he knows that he is unworthy of it; he is eating and drinking his own damnation. He will have to answer to the Lord for it some day.
One thing I like about him though, is that he’s always disowning the side woman.– DISAPPOINTED Dear Disappointed,
The Bible deals with such matters of hypocrisy. In Luke, Chapter 6 Verses 43 and 45 it states: “For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
“A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”
Put another way, the Lord will deal with this hypocrite. Thank you for reporting this to us as it shows such matters occur in the most unexpected places. It’s sad that all we can do is to highlight it because we would prefer to counsel those involved, particularly the one you called the “side woman”.
From what you said it is clear the side woman has a problem in that she cannot keep a job and so gives herself to a man who already is spoken for – a man of the cloth no less.I know some women do such things willingly as they only care about what they can gain. But I also know that some do it and are sickened that they have to stoop to that level to survive.
The fact that you said this side woman is too ashamed about what she is doing to come to church suggests that she may not be the demon here at all. It seems to me that this man of the cloth is a calculated, cold-hearted, individual who is feeding on this woman’s dependence on him. That’s why he tries to do it all in secret and never misses an opportunity to deny her. What he is doing is just wrong!
I would urge you and the other members in that church to force a discussion on this matter. No church leader should be allowed to continue behaving in this manner without being rebuked, and if necessary, cast out.
If the latter happens it would not be the first time here that such was done. In the incident I know of the church is stronger today for it. But nothing will happen if people just sit and gossip. So deal with this man who is a disgrace to all God-fearing people.
Christine
