Crowds gathered at The Lodge School earlier today when Mara Thompson, the candidate for the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) in the upcoming St John by-election arrived at the nomination centre.
Thompson was greeted by students at the school, some of whom witnessed the signing, which was done in the presence of the Prime Minister Freundel Stuart and some other members of the Cabinet.
After the official signing, many on the outside were also anxious to get Thompson to sign her campaign posters.
Today is Nomination Day for the candidates who will be contesting the January 20 by-election. Hudson Griffith is the Barbados Labour Party candidate and he is expected at the nomination centre by 1 p.m. (CM)
