Visitors safe

Prime Minister Freundel Stuart has reassured repeat visitors to the island of Government’s commitment to ensuring their safety and enjoyment while holidaying in Barbados.
Addressing over 100 visitors attending a reception at his official residence on Friday night, the Prime Minister said: “The faith you have placed in our country imposes on us a corresponding obligation to ensure that we make you as comfortable while you are in Barbados, and that we make you feel as safe as is humanly posible.
“The Government over which I preside, and of which the Minister of Tourism is a highly valued part, is committed to ensuring that we do everything to make those visitors who have faith in us and who continune to support our economy as comfortable as possible in this their second homeland,” Stuart assured guests, some of whom had paid more than 40 visits to Barbados.
The Prime Minister spoke about Barbados’ relationship with Britain, the United States and Canada, three of the major source markets for Barbados’ tourism, and he specially commended the British and American guests for their continued patronage despite the economic difficulties being experienced at home.
