One man was injured earlier today when a shooting incident occurred near the Blenheim Playing Field, My Lords Hill, St Michael.
Nicky Boyce, 23, received gunshot injuries to his right hand and to his lower back by an assailant. He is now being treated at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Police public relations officer Inspector David Welch said the incident took place around 10:40 a.m. in a track to the western end of Blenheim Playing Field.
Welch said: “At the time of the incident, about 150 students of the Springer Memorial School and three teachers were on the playing field.  On hearing the gunshots, the teachers instructed the children to lay flat on the ground.  From the reports, the children were not in danger”. (CM)
