Former Cabinet Minister Noel Lynch says the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) is in no position to criticise any organisation about disunity or division within its ranks.
Lynch was on the campaign trail in Gall Hill last night speaking on behalf of Barbados Labour Party St John by-election candidate Hudson Griffith.
“Don’t let them, the Dems, tell you all anything about crisis in leadership and about challenges in the Barbados Labour Party. Do you know a political party that doesn’t have some type of challenges?
“A party that Richie Haynes left and formed another party? A party that kicked out Clyde Mascoll and had a rift between him and David Thompson, could tell somebody in the BLP?about a rift between people?
“I say to you, those who are members of the BLP, let us band together and get the Dems out of office. If you are a Owen person or a Mia person, the most important thing is that we must be Bees first and foremost. We have got to support the cause of the BLP and what we have stood for, for 72 years,” he said.
Lynch said Barbados cried out for the leadership of the BLP.
“The people of Barbados are looking to us to save them from the Dems. The people of Barbados are looking to us to save them from future despair. The people of Barbados are looking for us to come in and make that decisive difference,” he said. (MK)
