Old Scholars teams from Harrison College, Combermere, The Lodge School, Coleridge and Parry, Ellerslie and Alleyne School will be competing in the 3rd Christ Church Foundation Joel Garner 20/20 Tournament which will run from January 26 to March 25.
Eight teams from Foundation School, including the only schoolboy unit, will join community teams Police and defending champions Lodge Road. The 16 teams, up from 12 last year, have been divided into four zones and the top eight teams will advance to the playoffs.
Preliminary matches will be played at Dover, Christ Church, on Mondays, Wednesday and Fridays, while the finals and semi-finals will be played on the school ground at Church Hill.
Patron Joel Garner said while he was too old to compete, he wanted to see some healthy rivalries and the rebuilding of friendships made at school, even as they used this fund-raising venture to help with the construction of a new pavilion at the school.
