Timothy Smith has been a worried man ever since a chunk of his land at Melvin’s Hill, was ripped away by rain several weeks ago.
The rubble has left the road partially blocked and prompted Member of Parliament for St Joseph Dale Marshall to plead with the Ministry of Public Works (MPW) to intervene, and for Government to devise a long-term plan for the fragile terrain of the Scotland District.
Smith, 86, said a crew from the MPW visited the site last Thursday and promised to be back this week to erect gabions and clear the soil in the road.
