Schools to clash in v-ball finals

Springer Memorial  will battle Coleridge & Parry (CP) girls and Christ Church Foundation boys will clash with St Leonard’s when the Super Centre under-19 schools’ volleyball finals are staged tomorrow at the Garfield Sobers Sports Complex.
The semi-finals, which were held on Tuesday at the Gym, saw CP and Foundation experiencing mixed fortunes while former champions Combermere suffered a double blow.  The Waterford team lost both their girls’ and boy’s engagements.
Foundation boys defeated Combermere, 25-16, 25-19, while the Foundation girls held the upper hand against CP before folding, 26-28, 20-25.
CP boys were not so fortunate as they were beaten by a highly rated St. Leonard’s, 23-25, 21-25.  
CP had stormed back from 12-19 to be up 23-20 in the first set which they lost at 23.  
Former queens Springer were solid in stopping Cawmere, 25-19, 25-22. (KB)
