Bianca Boyce has done it.
Years of competing and gaining experience in the Richard Stoute Teen Talent Competition finally paid off when she was announced winner of the Over-21 competition finals last night.
An overwhelmed Bianca expressed her happiness with the win, which many said was long overdue. Bianca’s mother Karin Boyce added: “I am happy now. Finally, after all these years she has gotten through.”
The 25-year-old has been singing since the age of six years and entered the competition every year until she bowed out at age 15. Boyce won the Richard Stoute 6-to-12 category in 1996 and has placed in the top three of the 13-20 category on several occasions.
However, she wowed the judges Sunday night to be adjudged the best in the Over-21 Talent Competition singing Zombies and Unchained Melody. Boyce, who led the points standings in the semi-finals, came back and reigned on the deciding night. O’Neal Harvey copped second spot, and gospel-singing Christine Carter placed third.
